Overview

In this article, you can view all the details of a Batch including its schedule and internal components. View Batch stats, blocks, impositions, and other settings. Test your JDF Template within the JDF Tester.

Batch Details


Click PRODUCTION > BATCHES > View Batches > select a Batch to view its details page.




Batch Scheduled Data


The upper portion of the Batch details page shows the Batch's scheduled data. The Batch number appears on the very top, as shown below.



The Batch events are listed (as steps) over a period of time composed of different SLAs for each event. Arrows between the events show the order in which these need to take place. This breakdown shows the cycle the Batch needs to go through before being shipped out.



This table shows what each event status color represents:

Event Color
Status Description
Green
The deadline is approaching and can be still met.
Orange
The deadline is approaching its end.
Red
You cannot meet the deadline but should try to get close.
Black
The deadline has passed and cannot be met.


The event status colors are to show when a batch is due out of a specific event rather than the overall exit of the shop. In the above example, the batch with the orange status will soon become green in the next events.


 


Click on an event to view its details.



In the Batch Event details popup, its Status, Main Batch Number, Product name, Component codes, when it Starts, and its Duration are shown. Click Change on the bottom of the Event details popup to adjust the event Duration.

Batch View Items


Click View Batch Items on the top right of the Batch details page to view the Batch Item details.



The Product, Batch Number, and Quantity of Items in the Batch are listed. 
Select Print to print the Batch Items' info.



The Order ID, Item ID, Barcode, Components of the Batch Items are listed underneath.

Upon expanding the Items' Order info, the contained Items' details are shown. Notice that the item barcodes are different from the order barcode.



Click View Order to go to the selected Order's details page.

Batch Components


Each SubBatch (component) is listed in a separate tab.



Each SubBatch lists the following side navigation tabs:

  • Summary 

    This tab is a summary including the SubBatch Details, Batch Properties, Batch Stats, Reverse and Scan Batch, Send to Device State, and Blocks.


    • SubBatch Details
      The summary of each subBatch shows the following:
    • Thumbnail of the first job in the Batch and the barcode associated with it (see #1).
    • Product information: Product Name, Quantity, Job Count, Batch Number, Pages, Component Code, Current Event name on the Batch Scheduled Data timeline, and if it is a Reprint or Single Item Batch (see #2).
    • Batch Status (either Live or Complete) and when it was last updated (see #3).


      Batched By attributes appear if they are applied to that product component.



      View More Links


      - Click View Product to go to the product details page that contains the current Batch.
      - Click Batch Rule to see the applied Batch Rules. This link only appears if a Batch Rule is applied to the product. 
      - Click View Jobs to view the Jobs within the current Batch in a list. Select any to view their details. 
      - Click View Event to view the production Events of which the current Batch is a part. 
      - Click View Latest Imposition to show if a batch imposition is applied to the product or overridden with one in the batch.
      - Click Sync with Schedule to sync the batch with any changes in the schedule.



    • Batch Properties
      The Paper Weight, Paper Name, Print Sides, Batch Type, Ticket Template (corresponds to the internet method on the DFE), Block Size, and Component Type of the Batch are listed.


    • Batch Stats


      All Batch Stats including Start Time, Close Time (when the Batch was closed), Close Reason, Close Message, SLA (earliest due date), Latest SLA, and Production Files Sync are listed.


    • Reverse & Scan Batch


      Click Reverse Batch to send the Batch back to the previous event and Click Scan Batch to proceed (and scan) the Batch to the next event on the Batch Scheduled Data timeline.


    • Send to Device State
      The Send-to-Device state is shown including the SubBatch Status, Block, and Timestamp.


    • Blocks

      The SubBatch Blocks are listed showing their total incoming Quantity, how many Pages, and Jobs count.

      Click View to view the Greensheet for this subBatch (shown in the second screenshot below) and Print to print it. You can customize the Greensheet Template in the Settings tab mentioned below.

  • Imposition

    Select the Imposition tab (see #4) and edit the batching imposition details under Imposition Template (see #5).  Select an appropriate Imposition Template for this batch and click Impose Batch to impose for production. Also, you can turn on/off the switch to Update Production Files to overwrite and sync production files as desired. If this option is not used, a new Imposition Template is created under Batch Impositions (see #6)

    If the production files are not updated, the first Imposition template will be highlighted and sent as you click Impose Batch. Otherwise, the newly created and last Imposition template will be the one highlighted and sent. 



    Click on the name of an imposed Batch to view and change the Imposition details.



    Click on a Batch Imposition to expand and view its details: File No., Pages, and Quantity.
    Click the ellipsis (three dots) at the end of each Batch Imposition to:
    - Download -> To see the Batch Job that's actually being imposed.
    - Resync -> To sync the imposition to your local server.
    - View Details -> To view information about the Batch File (shown in the second screenshot below).

  • Settings

    Click on the Settings tab (see #7) and edit the saved templated information for this Batch details under Batch Template (see #8)

    Select custom JDF and/or Greensheet Templates. Once selected, you can view and test it in the JDF Tester as it has now become the Default Template shown in the below Test JDF section.

    After selecting a custom Greensheet Template, you can view it (click Viewin the Blocks section shown above in the SubBatch Details section.

    Adjust the Block Size (see #9) to divide and define the Block Copies which is shown under Quantity in the Blocks section shown above. You can also Add New Pages or Jobs to the block size.

  • Test JDF

    Click on the Test JDF tab and select a device and Default Template to edit and preview your JDF template. Within the device settings, you can dictate if it's a flattened job or not. 



    Access the Job's URL as shown below. This is only accessible if you are on the device. Make sure to scroll to the right to capture the whole URL.
